Kamyani: We Fully Support the National Futsal Team’s Technical Staff

Following the national futsal team’s technical staff inviting 20 players to a preparatory camp ahead of the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup, Giti Pasand Isfahan Football Club issued a statement on Tuesday preventing six of its players from joining the camp.
Ehsan Kamyani, head of the Futsal Committee, emphasized the importance of mutual respect between national teams and clubs as key assets of Iranian football. “The action taken by Giti Pasand is unprofessional, and the federation reserves the right to pursue the matter and file complaints through legal and judicial channels,” he said.
He added that throughout the current futsal Premier League season, the federation in coordination with the League Organization has maintained comprehensive cooperation with clubs. “Taking into account the country’s economic and social conditions, we showed maximum flexibility and support in various areas for club managers. Despite this, it is unacceptable to witness such behavior at a sensitive time leading up to the national team’s participation in the most important continental competition,” Kamyani noted.
Kamyani further highlighted the status of Iran’s national futsal team, describing it as the most successful team in Asia. “The Islamic Republic of Iran’s national futsal team has won 13 titles in 17 editions of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup and has recently claimed the championship at the Islamic Solidarity Games. The team is preparing to compete under circumstances where its successes have consistently brought joy and hope to the Iranian people,” he said.
Reaffirming his unwavering support for the national team’s head coach, technical staff and players, Kamyani concluded: “Any attempt to disrupt the organization of national team training camps is contrary to the national interests of sport. We consider it our duty to stand firmly alongside the national futsal team as it faces the challenging task of defending its continental title.”
