New Dates for Persian Gulf Pro League Kickoff and Super Cup Match
The Iranian Football League Organization has announced revised dates for the start of the 2024–2025 season. Following a comprehensive review and in light of recent national events, the league is now scheduled to commence on August 17, 2025.
The Iranian Super Cup—contested between Tractor SC, winners of the Hazfi Cup, and Esteghlal FC, the Persian Gulf Pro League runners-up—will be held on Monday, August 10, at the Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium in Isfahan.
In its official statement, the organization reiterated its condemnation of the recent attacks by the Israeli regime on Iranian territory, which tragically resulted in civilian casualties. Aligning with the sentiments of the broader Iranian society, the football community expressed solidarity with the victims and reaffirmed its stance against violations of human rights and international law.
The decision to postpone the season’s start comes amid broader logistical and national considerations, and is intended to ensure optimal preparedness for both clubs and the league organizers. Further details regarding the full league fixture calendar and any additional operational updates are expected in the coming weeks.
