5th Conference of Provincial Football Association Held in Ahvaz

According to the official website of the Football Federation, the one-day conference took place on Friday, January 2, 2026, hosted by the city of Ahvaz, and attended by Mehdi Taj, President of the Football Federation, members of the Executive Board including Heydar Baharvand, Farzin Dabiri, Tahmoures Heydari, Ali Taheri and Farideh Shojaei, as well as Hedayat Mombeni, Secretary General of the federation, alongside a strong presence of provincial football association presidents.
The meeting was conducted in several segments. At the opening of the conference, Secretary General Hedayat Mombeni welcomed the participants and underlined the importance of provincial football associations as the executive arms of the federation in implementing policies and programs nationwide.
Federation President Mehdi Taj then addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of attention to detail across all sectors of Iranian football. He outlined the federation’s current approach, measures already taken, and key requirements for advancing football development objectives throughout the country, with an emphasis on fairness and balanced growth.
Tahmoures Heydari, Head of the Provincial Affairs Committee, subsequently presented a report on the committee’s activities, accompanied by a video prepared by the federation’s public relations department.
In other segments of the conference, Iraj Ahmadi explained FIFA’s special child safeguarding program, while Parastoo Ghoddasi presented the framework for the management system and performance evaluation of provincial football associations.
The conference also featured specialized roundtable discussions, during which provincial association presidents met with federation officials to raise questions and exchange views on various football-related issues.
Despite its intensive schedule, the one-day national gathering of provincial football bodies was described as an effective step toward enhancing transparency, strengthening cooperation and facilitating the execution of football-related affairs at the national level.
