FFIRI Launches Water Conservation Campaign Amid National Crisis
Issue 157 of the Federation’s Digital Newspaper Highlights Social Responsibility Initiative
In response to the ongoing water scarcity crisis affecting many regions of Iran, the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) has reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility by urging citizens to reduce water consumption.
📢 Under the campaign titled “Football with Life”, the federation and national teams call on fans and the public to become “Water Supporters” by saving 11 liters of water daily—symbolizing the 11 players on the pitch.
💧 Key Messages:
- Even small actions like turning off taps during handwashing or brushing teeth can save over 10 liters in just 5 minutes.
- The vitality of football depends on green pitches, which in turn rely on sustainable water use.
- The federation emphasizes that football’s survival is intertwined with environmental stewardship.
The campaign draws on national unity, likening the fight against water stress to the solidarity shown during the recent 12-day imposed war. It encourages collective action to preserve this precious national resource.
