With Ghalenoei, We Can Achieve Our Best World Cup Results
Hossein-Zadeh, who recently led Tractor SC to the league title and finished as the league’s top scorer, is now focused on making a mark with Team Melli as they prepare for World Cup qualifiers against Qatar and North Korea.
Speaking to the national team media, Hossein-Zadeh said:
“The training camp atmosphere has been excellent. We’ve been in camp for about 10 days now. At first, not all players were present due to ongoing club commitments, but the squad has now come together and everyone is fully prepared.”
Regarding the absence of senior players like Sardar Azmoun, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Mohammad Mohebi, and Ali Gholizadeh, he commented:
“It’s unfortunate that some of our key players are injured or unavailable. I hope they recover quickly. Personally, I’m hoping to get more minutes in these matches and prove my value to the team.”
Reflecting on his club success, he added:
“Winning the league and becoming the top scorer was a dream come true. I’m grateful to my teammates and the coaching staff. I’m mentally in a great place and confident, and I hope to carry that momentum into the national team and next season.”
On working under head coach Amir Ghalenoei, he said:
“It’s a great honor to head to the World Cup with an Iranian coach. I always wondered why we couldn’t compete on the world stage with a local manager. Working with Coach Ghalenoei is a privilege, and I truly believe we can achieve our best World Cup results under his leadership.”
Hossein-Zadeh also stressed the importance of preparation:
“Planning for the World Cup is a huge responsibility. I hope the federation and coaching staff secure strong friendly matches for us. The World Cup is an elite tournament, and we need to be fully prepared.”
Concluding with a personal goal, he said:
“I’m eager to get playing time in these two upcoming matches. I’m giving everything I’ve got and hope to score my first international goal. That would be a big moment for me—and a way to contribute to the team’s success.”
