Team Melli Kicks Off Final Training Camp Ahead of Qatar and North Korea Friendlies
Team Melli launched its intensive residential camp today following multiple preparatory phases and the announcement of the final squad list by the coaching staff.
The players gathered at the National Training Center (Pek) at 11:00 AM, where they were welcomed by head coach Amir Ghalenoei, who delivered motivational and tactical remarks before the first training session.
The morning workout lasted around 50 minutes and included a combination of stretching routines, light jogging, strength training, and speed drills. Players were split into small groups for various exercises focused on physical conditioning and injury prevention.
In his address, Ghalenoei emphasized the significance of the training camp, especially for younger players:
“The future belongs to the youth—make the most of these opportunities.”
He also reflected on Team Melli’s performance in the AFC Asian Cup match against Japan, stating:
“Many say that was our best performance in recent years, but I believe you are capable of even more. I’m confident we’ll perform better at the World Cup because I see the potential in you.”
Highlighting the importance of the pre-World Cup year, he added:
“This year, you need to be the best version of yourselves, both technically and ethically. Take care of your actions and performance—on and off the pitch.”
The afternoon session will be held on grass and will focus on tactical work as the team prepares for two key friendly matches aimed at fine-tuning strategies ahead of major competitions.
