Team Melli Continues Preparations with Tactical Focus
Team Melli returned to training on Pitch No. 1 at the National Teams Training Center after a 24-hour rest. The session welcomed four new call-ups: Sadegh Moharrami, Amir Mohammad Razaghniya, Mohammad Ghorbani, and Mohammad Mehdi Zare.
Before the main session began, the team’s four goalkeepers, Alireza Beiranvand, Payam Niazmand, Mohammad Khalifeh, and Parsa Jafari—conducted specialized training under the guidance of goalkeeping coach Alin Dinca.
The training opened with motivational and tactical remarks from head coach Amir Ghalenoei. Players then split into four groups to perform short-passing drills, technical exercises, and sprint work.
In the tactical phase of training, players were divided into two groups, each working under the supervision of Team Melli’s coaching staff, including Saeed Elhayi, Andranik Teymourian, Antonio Manicone, and Rahman Rezaei. This portion focused on combination attacking plays, finishing on mini goals, and offensive coordination.
Later in the session, the team shifted training areas to go through a different tactical setup, which concluded with an intrasquad scrimmage between the white and green teams.
A notable moment during the session was Coach Ghalenoei’s decision to observe the drills from an elevated camera platform, allowing him a better vantage point to analyze and communicate key tactical insights to the players.
